Six month check in!

Hi all,

We are six months into two thousand and twelve and what steps have you taken to reach your goals?  (Remember those things most of us set at the beginning of the year!)  Well, I have been pretty busy with my youngest and all the end of High School and moving on to college stuff.  BUT that is not an excuse to not have spent some time on my goals, dreams and aspirations which I have done in small amounts but now it is time to get real FOR ME!

This is the forward to the next chapter in my book on life!  I plan to be a success regardless of any and all failed attempts as those are lessons to learn from.  My commitment to myself (& to you my reader) is to take one small step towards reaching my goals (any one of ) each and every day!  What are you going to do?  Remember to "MAKE IT COUNT".

Proactive steps to dealing with Empty Nest

Hi all,

It's been awhile since I've posted but I have to say that Senior year of High School for my "baby" has been a lot of "this is last......"!  I knew it was going to be bad for me but REALLY it's a little ridiculous when I'm tearing up at the littlest things.  So knowing that sending my "baby" off to college this fall is going to be very tough on me not far off from the recent cell phone commercial where Mom & daughter are sobbing uncontrollably & undecipherable to boot.  I know my "baby" will feel it some but not as much as I'm going to!  So what's a soon to be Empty Nester to do?

Well, I'm definitely digging deep inside of me (only) and trying to figure who and what I want to be in the next chapter of my life.  There are many things that I have yet to accomplish so now is the time - right?  I think so!  My day job has been very supportive of the "family comes first" mindset which I am truly blessed to be working for but.......... for the last few years I have been in what I'd call an "idol" place in my career and now it's time to redirect both with my day time job and my passions.  

What is truly neat is just yesterday I received an email from our director which stated that I am thought of with the overall "succession" plan for our agency.  Now that is synchronicity!  The universe gave me the reminder (or gentle prodding) I needed to move me from "idol" to "drive" in my career.  Now the speed at which I "drive" is up to me!  But watch out as I do like to drive fast :-)

Well this weekend was officially the first weekend of spring and we experienced the first snow fall of the season - go figure! Still so pretty!
